This book is a great work that interpreted the physical attributes of gravity in the viewpoint of philosophy and historical imagination. I’ve been long waiting for emergence of ‘scientist who can draw.’ I am proud that this book has opened the first page of the journey. โ Lee Gi-jin(Prof. at Sogang University, Physicist)
The moment I opened this book, I felt the law of relativity with my whole body as the journey with gravity, led by the author's eyes in round glasses, ended in a flash. This book delivered surprisingly attractive interpretation on the concept of gravity, which is often deemed tedious yet unfamiliar, natural yet absurd. If you ever wonder why the stars in the night sky don't fall to you, simply follow the journey of gravity with this book. โ Lee Eun-hee (Science Columnist)

"Jo Jin-ho, a scientist who writes and draws Startled the World with Korea's First Science and Graphic Novel, Gravity Express"
Gravity Express is a meaningful work that not only made author Jo Jin-ho’s name known to the public as a writer but also helped him embark on the current science graphic novel project “Express Series.” “Why do objects fall?” This graphic novel discloses the path where mankind has endeavored to find answers to this simple yet significant question. This book takes readers to exciting intellectual journeys by big name scientists who played a crucial role in revealing the true nature of gravity, including Newton of universal gravitation and Einstein of relativity, while also covering intellectual journeys of figures such as Anaximandros, Aristarchos, Aristoteles, Copernicus, Galilei, Kepler, Buridan, Jean, and Descartes, who were devoted to discovering the realities of gravity. Simply take on the journey of this novel and the principles and history of gravity will naturally lie in your head.

From Anaximandros to Einstein : Thrilling and fascinating 2,500 years of journey together with 28 main characters and a lot more.
01 Adaptation Period : Why do objects fall? Mankind looking up the sky began to scrutinize falling For billions of decades, life on Earth has had to fight against force that pushes and pulls them. Human beings went a step further and began to think about weight and principles of falling. What’s more surprising is that human beings realized that weight and falling (and the likes) are the starting point of fundamental ideas when it comes to imagining the shape of the universe or guessing the position in space of universe. This is the beginning of a long gravity journey by mankind.
02 Lost Where to Fall : Aristarchos, who believed the Earth was moving Anaximandrosthought that the ‘lazy’ God created the world that spins like a self-operating machine. The language of the machine design was ‘numbers.’ Learning about numbers, human beings were able to measure the size of the globe and celestial structure. The earth, moon, and sun were larger than imagined and floating in the vast space. There was one phenomenon, however, that took this idea into confusion: All objects in the space hold weight and fall down. How come people do not roll down on the spherical Earth, how does the Earth float in space, and why does the moon and the sun not fall down? Here is the story of Aristarchos, who believed the Earth was moving, and Aristotle, who refuted it with phenomenon of falling.
03 Fall to Itself : Aristotle, who left in search of the orderly universe The spherical Earth and celestial bodies are floating in vast space and the sun and moon are graciously circling. On the Earth, on the other hand, all objects fall down to the ground: or fall toward the center of the Earth. What is the logic behind this phenomenon? What made this question more complicated was the obvious phenomenon that all objects fall down. Aristotle, a prominent Greek scholar, emerged to solve this question and found the reason for the falling in the fundamental element of matter, affirming his view that the Earth was the center of the universe.
04 That’s Wrong : Impetus of Jean Buridan and Heliocenteria Theory of Copernicus As time went by, people began to raise objections to Aristotle's logical view on the universe. The actual phenomenon of falling and the long-observed movements of the celestial bodies were not fully explained based on Aristotle's view. Center of the universe is the sun, not the earth. This time, however, the new idea was challenged by the phenomenon of falling. If the Earth is busily moving around the universe, how can objects fall directly to the ground? How can the moving earth be so quiet? The story goes from Buridan, who looked at the motion of objects with new eyes, to Copernicus, who imagined a simpler, solar-centered universe.
05 Falling Is Pulling : Kepler, Explains falling in the language of the earth Heliocentricismdid not predict the movements of celestial bodies as accurately as the earthcenter theory. However, Kepler, the only man that had a belief that the sun was the center of the universe and that the universe was organized harmoniously, solved this weakness of the Solar-center theory. Kepler, who thoroughly analyzed Tycho Brahe's observations and traced the operation of celestial bodies with persistent patience, thought there must be a principle that was comprehensible to human beings on how celestial bodies move and objects fall to the ground. He had an innovative idea that the principle was the about 'mass,' which was already known to human beings. Kepler was an astronomer, but he was thinking like a physicist.
06 There is No Guessing of Pulling : Galilei, Galileo, Analyze falling in the language of Universe Galileo Galilei who only trusted “experiments” and “numbers,” explains why the movement of earth, believed to be moving around, is not felt. He also reached to a huge enlightenment: The true nature of the universe is completely different than commonly sensed, and time is the only absolute being. Deeply interested in the movement of objects, he figured out the nature of movement and discovered a clue of its serious relation with falling of objects.
07 Right, It Is Pulling! : Old question, connecting heaven and earth, Newton Finalized it Newton throws an apple and the flying apple falls. However, if the apple is thrown with proper strength, it could spin around the earth permanently. Why do celestial bodies float inspace when objects on earth fall down to the ground? The answer to this complicated riddle has already been found by predecessors, but in the shape of shattered puzzles. . Newton put those puzzles together correctly and finished them with beautiful mathematics. His answer was clear and simple. The cosmic movements, including falling, can all be explained according to his formula, as long as the pulling force between inertia and mass was taken into consideration. The universe is a single world, not divided into the heaven and the ground and controlled solely by a single principle. By understanding this principle, human beings can explain and predict every movement in the universe.
08 Bitterness after Victory : Reasonable but Not Understandable. The Key is ‘Light’ Newton's gravitational and epidemiological principles work like a magic box: Simply type the numbers and results are out immediately with accuracy. What is bizarre is that it is impossible to find out where the results have been driven from.. People with curiosity constantly pondered on the philosophical challenges of Newton's theory, which was eventually hit by another emerging study. Not everything in the universe moved under the theory of Newton. The key to the more complicated gravity problem lied unexpectedly in the ‘light,’ a physical existence that seemed unrelated to gravity.
09 A Delusion : Einstein overturned the theory: Gravity is actually closer to Pushing Once again, everything about gravity was overturned: Time and space are not deemed absolute, but changing amounts. What other stories can be more unbelievable than this? With this amazing idea, Einstein has changed the whole concept of time and space and overturned Newton's laws of mechanics that were deemed inarguable. With speed of light and the theory of relativity in Galilei’s inertia system, Einstein discovered the principle of gravity that even Newton could not solve. . The idea that gravity is force was just a delusion!
